Gregory Lewis - Williamstown

The Australian naval dockyards in Melbourne are just part of a long maritime history for the seaside suburb of Williamstown. I explored the area for a few hours with my Nikon F6, Sigma 24-105mm lens and a few rolls of Portra 800, plus an N75 loaded with Ektar 100.

HMAS Castlemaine is moored directly across the park from the main street with a view beyond to the city of Melbourne. Williamstown is a beautifully maintained historic suburb with original elegant street architecture and parklands.

HMAS Adelaide and the environmental protection ship Sea Shepherd were in port.

At the Seaworks maritime museum staff have assembled an impressive array of models, paintings, and relics recounting Williamstown's history from the mid 1800s.
