Gregory Lewis - Darling Harbour

On our return to Sydney after seeing family in Brisbane we spent time in the Darling Harbour and central city ares. What used to be the central rail freight yards was transformed into a tourist precinct in the mid 1980s. This photo of a small part of the site in 1946 shows the rail lines wrapping around the south end of the harbour. The photo faces the tall spire of Central Railway Station.

No trace of the rail yards remains, save a new tram line running from Central along the western shore. We wandered about for a few hours just to see the sights before catching the XPT sleeper train back to Albury. We ate at the South Steyne floating restaurant.

I used Ektar 100 film in my Nikon F6, two Nikon lenses at 50mm and 300mm, and a Tamron 90mm.
