Gregory Lewis - Model Trains

The annual model train show in Albury is a must-see event for me. The range of classic 3-rail layouts in O and OO scale is always worth seeing. Modern layouts included Australian and European HO designs.

I attended with a Nikon F6, Portra 800 film at EI 400 and a Tamron 15-30mm lens locked at f/4. All shutter speeds were around the 1/4 to 1/15 mark.

The colourful Lego trains were popular. Today’s customised block shapes allows new imaginative modelling.

The hand-made wooden locomotives were extraordinary. The realistic 3D proportions, tiny carved details and working running gear made these the highlight of the show for me.
