Gregory Lewis - Echuca Steam & Horse Festival

The Seymour Railway Heritage Centre ran a tour to Echuca along well-maintained freight lines. Vintage carriages were pulled behind locomotive T378, seen here in a promotional video for a tour to Tocumwal.

I took my new F3 loaded with Kodak BW400CN, now sadly discontinued, with the light meter set at E.I. 200. I carried a few Nikon lenses: 24mm f/2.8 AI-S, 135mm f/2.8 and a 70-20mm f/4-5.6 zoom. I also used the excellent Voigtlander 40mm f/2.

A local brass band greeted visitors to an outstanding exhibition of steam traction engines, vintage cars and horse working demonstrations. I was impressed with the efforts that had gone into bringing so many steam engines and large horses to one place and the range of traditional rural activities they recreated. This was "horse power" in the most real sense.

Most of the shots here are slightly toned using DxO FilmPack.
